Basketball Recap: Granby Memorial Comes Up Short

Granby Memorial lost against Coventry back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Granby Memorial Bears took a 43-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coventry Patriots. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Coventry's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hailey Mayo, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 16 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Reese Jeamel, who posted five points along with eight boards and four blocks.

Granby Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Coventry, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1.

Granby Memorial has already played their next contest (against Windsor Locks), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Coventry has already played their next match, a 60-52 victory against East Windsor on the 28th.
