Softball Recap: Ore City Comes Up Short

Ore City lost against Beckville back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Ore City Rebels lost 16-3 to the Beckville Bearcats. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brooke Byrd made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season. Keylee Richardson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Byrd wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Ore City lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Ore City's record now sits at 2-8-1. As for Beckville, they moved to 9-7-2 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

While Ore City had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
