Soccer Game Preview: Gretna East vs. Blair

Gretna East is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blair Bears at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Blair will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Gretna East extended their winning streak to 11 on Monday. The Griffins' defense stepped up to hand Bennington a 5-0 shutout.

Gretna East hit the Badgers with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kendall Dobberstein (2), Taylor LaRock, Addison LaRock, and Sonora DeFini.

Meanwhile, Blair faced Elkhorn in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Bears blew past the Antlers 6-3. That's two games straight that Blair have won by exactly three goals.

Blair's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. As for Gretna East, their victory bumped their record up to 11-0.

Gretna East beat Blair by a goal when the teams last played last Monday, winning 4-3. Will the Griffins repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
