Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cannelton). They escaped with a win on Saturday against the Christian Academy of Madison Defenders by the margin of a single free throw, 45-44. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 44-33 last Saturday.

Christian Academy of Madison lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Hannah Skirvin, who went 10 of 19 on her way to 22 points. Skirvin continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Eva Fox, who went 5 for 10 en route to 11 points.

Cannelton's win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Christian Academy of Madison, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cannelton will take on Seven Oaks Classical in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Christian Academy of Madison, they will venture away from home to face off against South Decatur at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
