ALA - West Foothills needed a changed in momentum after dropping four straight games and they got it from Izabella Juarez. The ALA - West Foothills Guardians really took it to the Highland Prep Honey Badgers for the full four quarters, racking up a 71-43 victory thanks in part to Juarez, who went 14 for 23 on her way to 39 points in addition to eight boards and seven steals. Her evening made it eight games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.
The team also got some help courtesy of Alexandra Blundon, who posted two points along with five assists and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played.
Highland Prep's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Aaliyah Minick, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 17 points and three steals, and Madison Lawrence, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave Minick a new career-high in points.
ALA - West Foothills' win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Highland Prep, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-6.
ALA - West Foothills wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 62-12 victory against Chino Valley on the 10th.
