Fort Hill had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They managed a 66-60 victory over the Mountain Ridge Miners. The Sentinels have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Miners, too.

Mountain Ridge lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ian Duncan, who went 6 for 10 en route to 21 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen McGeady, who posted 13 points along with seven assists and five boards.

Fort Hill's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Mountain Ridge, they moved to 5-7 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Hill has already played their next match (against Morgantown Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Mountain Ridge will head out to face off against GVCS Broadfording at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. GVCS Broadfording knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Mountain Ridge likes a good challenge.
