Football Recap: Riverton Comes Up Short

Riverton came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were beaten by PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central/Greenview 38-8. Having soared to a lofty 36 points in the game before, the Hawks couldn't push the score so high this time.

PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central/Greenview's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Drew Carter, who rushed for 82 yards and three scores on only eight carries. Lane McAnally was another key player, rushing for 36 yards and one TD.

Riverton's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central/Greenview, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
