Softball Recap: Riggs Governors vs. Harrisburg Tigers

Riggs and Harrisburg squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Riggs had to settle for second. They lost 16-1 to the Harrisburg Tigers. Riggs just can't catch a break and has now endured five losses in a row.

For Harrisburg's part, Madelyn Ducheneaux was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Ducheneaux has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive pitching appearances. Ducheneaux was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Hailey Boer was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-4. Peyton Bennett was another key contributor, going 2-for-4 with two runs, a triple, and a stolen base.

Riggs' defeat dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Harrisburg, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 18-2.
