Baseball Recap: Anacoco Victorious

After losing to Rosepine the last time they met, Anacoco decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Indians won by a run and slipped past the Eagles 5-4.

The team relied heavily on Riley Hayes, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Anacoco's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 9-15 when he doesn't). Luke Thompson also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Anacoco is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-15 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Rosepine, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-10.

As of now, neither Anacoco nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
