Recap: St. Augustine Knights vs. St. Joseph Academy Bloodhounds
The St. Augustine Knights waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against St. Joseph Academy by a score of 64-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
St. Joseph Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Oscar Balli, who scored 19 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Balli has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Lucas Cristiano, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
St. Augustine's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for St. Joseph Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Augustine will take on San Antonio Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. San Antonio Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than St. Augustine in Texas (San Antonio Christian is ranked 226th, while St. Augustine is ranked 670th). As for St. Joseph Academy, they will be playing at home against St. Joseph at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Joseph has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
