Recap: Hickory Red Tornadoes vs. Foard Tigers
The Hickory Red Tornadoes put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 77-40 win over Foard. Hickory has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 25 points or more this season.
Hickory's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamien Little, who scored 12 points. Zane Krenzel was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Despite the loss, Foard had strong showings from Aiden Ollis, who scored 12 points, and Carson Bess, who scored 13 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ollis has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nolan Herman, who scored seven points.
Hickory pushed their record up to 15-0 with that victory, which was their 17th straight on the road. As for Foard, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hickory will take on Statesville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Statesville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Hickory is ranked 18th). As for Foard, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on St. Stephens at 8:00 p.m. on January 23rd. St. Stephens has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 270 points over their last four matches.
