After a string of four wins, Spearville's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Bucklin Red Aces by a score of 50-48. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 41-36 back in December of 2024.

Emmy Kirk continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bucklin, going 10 for 19 on her way to 27 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. The dominant performance gave Kirk a new career-high in points. Karlee Evans was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Spearville's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Bucklin, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Spearville has already played their next game, a 61-36 victory against Minneola on the 3rd. As for Bucklin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 54-40 win against Pawnee Heights on the 4th.
