Baseball Recap: Cimarron Gets the Win

Five must be Cimarron's lucky number: they beat Spearville with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Bluejays came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lancers, sneaking past 5-3. The victory continues a trend for the Bluejays in their matchups with the Lancers: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Breck Averhoff, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Cimarron's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-4-2 when he doesn't).

Cimarron's win bumped their record up to 8-4-2. As for Spearville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-3.
