Softball Recap: Wooster Has No Trouble Against Cloverleaf

Wooster won the last time they faced Cloverleaf and things went their way on Saturday too. The Generals blew past the Colts 8-1. That's two games straight that the Generals have won by exactly seven runs.

Brielle Burchett made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Burchett was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Emily Boyd was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Wooster and bumps their season record up to 4-14. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Cloverleaf, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wooster will welcome Dover at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Generals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Crimson Tornadoes have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Cloverleaf, they will be playing at home against Norton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
