Baseball Game Preview: Union Red Hawks vs. Greenville Yellow Jackets

The Union Red Hawks are taking a road trip to take on the Greenville Yellow Jackets at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Union put up the most runs they have all season on Friday. They never let Ottawa Hills get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Red Hawks in their matchups with the Bengals: they've now won eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Greenville had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They came out on top against the Red Hawks by a score of 10-7. Surprisingly, this marked the Yellow Jackets' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Kamdon Mills was excellent, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Cash Lilley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Union's record is now 4-14. As for Greenville, their record now sits at 13-10.

Union might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from Greenville when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Can the Red Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
