Volleyball Recap: San Leandro Wins Going Away Against Hayward

San Leandro's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Hayward Farmers with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Pirates have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Farmers, too.

While San Leandro won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-12, 26-24, 25-19.

Avery Stone paced San Leandro's offense, picking up 11 kills. Stone got some help from Emmet Normart and his 20 assists. Collin Peav controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

San Leandro's record is now 13-8. As for Hayward, they moved to 6-7 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Leandro will host Castro Valley at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hayward, they will square off against Mt. Eden at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
