Basketball Recap: Shawnee Takes a Loss

Shawnee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 80-63 to the Carrier Mills-Stonefort Wildcats. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (55), the Redskins still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Shawnee saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kyler Jewell posted 39 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jewell has scored all season. Noah Mayberry was another key player, putting up 18 points.

Shawnee's defeat dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Carrier Mills-Stonefort, their win bumped their record up to 2-18.

Coming up, Shawnee will be playing at home against Agape Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Carrier Mills-Stonefort, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-56 victory against Cobden on the 8th.
