Basketball Recap: Jaylen Brown Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Ganado

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Page, Window Rock was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the Ganado Hornets out 55-52. For the Fighting Scouts, this counts as revenge for the 69-62 win the Hornets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Window Rock's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylen Brown, who posted 13 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. Those eight steals gave Brown a new career-high. Xavier Young was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Despite the loss, Ganado still got an impressive performance from Kyren Todechine, who went 9 of 19 en route to 25 points in addition to six boards and four steals. That was a full 48.1% of Ganado's points, marking the third time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points. Miles White also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Window Rock's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-12. As for Ganado, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.

Window Rock has already played their next contest, a 58-53 loss against Monument Valley on the 18th. As for Ganado, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 87-42 defeat against Page on the 17th.
