Judson routed Steele 58-21 in 2018, reversing a trend of head-to-head dominance by the younger school.
The two most dominant San Antonio-area programs brace for their annual face-off Friday when 3-0 Steele (Cibolo) hosts 3-0 Judson (Converse) in a District 26-6A opener.
Older Judson has more championship skins on the wall, winning six state titles from 1983-2002. The shared record for state titles by a school is eight.
Steele, which came along later and did not field a varsity team in 2006, won a state title in 2010 and was runner-up in 2011 and 2016.
