In what's become a running theme this season, Desert Christian gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They blew past San Manuel 82-31 at home. Given Desert Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while San Manuel is ranked 337th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Desert Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adam Vavala, who scored 20 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vavala has scored all season. Jonathan Brown was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Sequoia Pathway Academy dropped their record down to 0-11 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Desert Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.
Sequoia Pathway Academy might still be hurting after the 81-58 loss they got from Desert Christian when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Sequoia Pathway Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
