Football Recap: Pine Bush Find Success

Pine Bush lost to Warwick back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Bushmen managed a 32-28 win over the Wildcats. The game was the first time the Bushmen have beaten the Wildcats on their field since October 28, 2017.

Ruben Simpson Jr went supernova, rushing for 267 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per carry. Jemire Bey-Dominick was another key rusher, rushing for 88 yards and a pair of scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Pine Bush was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 413 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Warwick only rushed for 149.

Despite the loss, Warwick still got an impressive performance from Daniel Lupkovich, who rushed for 54 yards and two TDs on only five carries, and also threw for 275 yards and one touchdown. Sean Perez was Lupkovich's top target, picking up 65 receiving yards and one score.

Pine Bush's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Warwick, they now also have a losing record of 1-2.

Pine Bush has already played their next contest, a 36-20 win against Kingston on the 26th. As for Warwick, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 35-26 defeat against Goshen Central on the 26th.
