Soccer Game Preview: Mingus vs. Lee Williams

The Mingus Marauders will head out to square off against the Lee Williams Volunteers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mingus is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 5.5 goals per game this season.

Mingus will head out to face Lee Williams after giving up their first home loss of the season last Tuesday. Mingus fell 3-1 to Coconino.

Mingus' goal came courtesy of Juliana Morales, who's now up to four this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lee Williams, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They never let Mohave onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Volunteers as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Lee Williams' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-6. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matches. As for Mingus, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-2-1.

Mingus beat Lee Williams by a goal in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mingus since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
