Football Game Preview: Captain Shreve Gators vs. Airline Vikings + How To Watch

The Captain Shreve Gators are taking a road trip to challenge the Airline Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Captain Shreve has given up an average of 38.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Airline will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Captain Shreve extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Gators walked away with a 59-48 victory over Benton. The Gators pushed the score to 52-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Airline faced Evangel Christian Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Vikings fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 51-49. The Vikings were up 28-14 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Airline didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jimarion Arthur, Braylyn Jackson, and Jaylan Bradley picked up one apiece. Airline got some further help from Abreion Cooper: he picked up a sack and made 12 total tackles.

Captain Shreve's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Airline, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 3-1.

Captain Shreve and Airline were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but Captain Shreve came up empty-handed after a 69-68 defeat. Thankfully for the Gators, Ben Taylor (who threw for 573 yards and seven TDs while completing 71.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 52 yards on only five carries) won't be suiting up this time.
