Baseball Recap: Carbondale Area Comes Up Short

Carbondale Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 10-3 to the Holy Redeemer Royals. The Chargers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Royals from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Carbondale Area saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Waters, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Waters also got a hit, marking his first of the season.

Carbondale Area's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Holy Redeemer, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Carbondale Area will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Forest City at 4:30 p.m. on the 9th. As for Holy Redeemer, they will be playing at home against Lake-Lehman at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
