Basketball Game Preview: Hickory Red Tornadoes vs. Forsyth Country Day Furies

Having just played yesterday, the Hickory Red Tornadoes will jump right back in to play the Forsyth Country Day Furies at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Hickory's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Hickory is headed into the game having just posted their biggest win since March 1, 2024 on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Foard 83-49. Given the Red Tornadoes' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while the Tigers are ranked 594th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after a string of 11 wins, Forsyth Country Day's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to Wesleyan Christian Academy.

Hickory's victory was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.2 points. As for Forsyth Country Day, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 19-4.
