Churubusco proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by nine) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let the Central Noble Cougars get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on eight straight.
The result came thanks to Alyssa Marks's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Churubusco's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lydia Parker, who went 1-for-4 with one run.
Churubusco's record is now 23-3. As for Central Noble, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-7.
Churubusco wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-1 victory against Prairie Heights on the 25th. Hopefully Central Noble paid attention to the Eagles' game: the next time they hit the field , they'll take on the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
