Preview: Michigan City Wolves vs. Valparaiso Vikings
The Michigan City Wolves will head out on the road to take on the Valparaiso Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Friday, Michigan City was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 64-63 to Lake Central. While losing is never fun, Michigan City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Lake Central is ranked 27th).
Meanwhile, Valparaiso unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Crown Point by a score of 58-55. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Valparaiso has suffered against Crown Point since February 10, 2017.
Michigan City's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Valparaiso, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-5.
Michigan City beat Valparaiso 63-54 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Michigan City since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
