Volleyball Game Preview: Mead Mavericks vs. Monarch Coyotes + Official Tickets

The Mead Mavericks will challenge the Monarch Coyotes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monarch took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Mead, who comes in off a win.

Monarch will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Mead extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. Everything went the Mavericks' way against Fairview as they made off with a 3-0 win.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Mead was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-12, 25-12.

Mead got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alana Costello out in front who had ten digs and one assist.

Mead was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 14 consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Monarch's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Frederick.

Monarch's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Mead, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.

Mead took their victory against Monarch in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Mavericks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Coyotes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
