Football Recap: Springfield Falls to Lakeview in First Game of Season

Springfield unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Lakeview Bulldogs by a score of 10-7 on Friday.

Brayden Baird threw for 79 yards and one touchdown. Matt Wymer was his top target, picking up 30 receiving yards. On the ground, Alex Caldwell rushed for 119 yards.

Springfield is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Brookfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakeview, they will challenge Crestview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
