Softball Recap: Ridge Spring-Monetta Takes a Loss

Ridge Spring-Monetta had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 6-12 to make it four. They lost 23-6 to the Airport Eagles. The Trojans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in April of 2022.

As for Airport, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-8. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Airport's part, Avery Ingram made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Ingram was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one triple. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ariana Feliciano, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Macie McCracken, who went 2-for-5 with three runs and two RBI.

Ridge Spring-Monetta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Airport, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lancaster at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bruins have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
