Volleyball Preview: Hurricane Redskins vs. Winfield Generals
The Hurricane Redskins's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Winfield Generals at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
Last Saturday, Hurricane didn't have quite enough to beat James Monroe and fell 2-1. While the Redskins didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mavericks 25-23 in the first set.
Hurricane was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made James Monroe work for it, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 28-23, 15-10.
Meanwhile, Winfield had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Vikings , sneaking past 3-2.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Winfield got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 20-25, 25-22, 21-25, 15-9.
Hurricane has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-17-1 record this season. As for Winfield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 19-10-4 record this season.
