Football Recap: Ponderosa Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Ponderosa lost against Mountain Vista back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mustangs took a blow against the Golden Eagles, falling 55-7. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked first).

Mackenzie King threw for 67 yards on eight of 19 attempts. Reagan Eby was her top target, picking up 37 receiving yards.

Ariana Akey was her usual excellent self, throwing for 144 yards and six TDs while completing 90.9% of her passes for Mountain Vista. That's the most passing touchdowns Akey has posted since back in October of 2024.

Ponderosa's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Mountain Vista, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.

Ponderosa has already played their next contest, a 6-0 defeat against Heritage on the 3rd. As for Mountain Vista, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 41-13 win against ThunderRidge on the 3rd.
