Baseball Game Preview: Bear Creek Bruins vs. McClatchy Lions

Bear Creek's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Gilbert, who went 3-for-4 with one double. The dominant performance gave Gilbert a new career-high in hits.

Meanwhile, McClatchy put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with an 11-6 win over Franklin. The Lions' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Antonio Barber, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Charlie Rios, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.

McClatchy pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bear Creek, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
