Basketball Recap: Twin Valley Comes Up Short

If Twin Valley was feeling good fresh off their 72-37 takedown of Rivendell Academy last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Twin Valley Wildcats took a 53-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Woodstock Wasps. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Wasps: they've now lost four in a row.

Despite the loss, Twin Valley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brayden Brown went 16 for 23 en route to 35 points and seven rebounds. That was a full 74.5% of Twin Valley's points, marking the 11th time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian Sullivan, who scored six points along with 11 boards and three steals.

Twin Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Woodstock, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5.

Twin Valley will host Long Trail at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Woodstock, they are taking a road trip to square off against Leland & Gray at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodstock is facing Leland & Gray at the right time seeing as Leland & Gray is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
