Baseball Game Preview: Northlake Christian Wolverines vs. Parkview Baptist Eagles

The Northlake Christian Wolverines will head out to challenge the Parkview Baptist Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Thursday, Northlake Christian got the win against Assumption by a conclusive 10-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolverines.

Northlake Christian got a great performance from Cade Christner as he pitched 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off only one hit. That's the fewest hits Christner has allowed since back in February.

At the plate, Ty Galloway was a standout: he scored three runs and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Stew Covey, who went 4-for-5 with three doubles and one run.

Northlake Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.9 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.

Meanwhile, Parkview Baptist never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past Bourgeois 21-0. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Parkview Baptist has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. Northlake Christian's record is now 10-5-1.
