Football Recap: Milano Takes a Loss

Milano extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They had to suffer through a 43-7 loss at the hands of the Moody Bearcats. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bearcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Despite the loss, Milano had strong showings from Peyton Steinbecker, who rushed for 160 yards, and Troy Montoya, who rushed for 11 yards and one score.

As for Moody, the win got them back to even at 2-2. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for their offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Moody's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lee Womack, who threw for 324 yards and five touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes. Those 324 passing yards gave Womack a new career-high. Moody's leading receiver Hayden Stinson was Womack's top target yet again, picking up 115 receiving yards and three TDs.

Coming up, Milano will challenge Iola at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Moody, they will take on CTSA O at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
