Soccer Game Preview: Wickliffe vs. Independence

Wickliffe will face off against Independence at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Wickliffe's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Independence has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Wickliffe and Beachwood, and Beachwood kept the tradition alive. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Bison by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The matchup was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Wickliffe couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Independence fell victim to Orange and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-2. As for Wickliffe, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.

Wickliffe took their win against Independence when the teams last played back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0 score. Does Wickliffe have another victory up their sleeve, or will Independence turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
