Softball Game Preview: Church Point Bears vs. Beau Chene Gators

Church Point is 0-5 against Beau Chene since March of 2015 but things could change on Monday. Church Point will host Beau Chene at 5:30 p.m. Beau Chene took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Church Point, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with nine losses in a row, Church Point turned things around against St. Edmund on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Fighting Blue Jays by a score of 8-4.

Ryleigh Hooks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits. That's the fewest earned runs she has allowed since back in February.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kaylee Henry, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kylee Fruge, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Meanwhile, Beau Chene came up short against Eunice on Monday and fell 11-8.

Church Point's victory bumped their record up to 4-11-1. As for Beau Chene, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
