League recap: Kirsch throws longest pass in league this season for Eastside Catholic

Fans got a thrill when Harley Kirsch and Devon Arbis-Jackson connected against O'Dea. The connection was good for 68 yards, the longest such play in 3A Metro - Mountain this season.

Bishop Blanchet was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after topping Seattle Prep. The Braves came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 27 last week.

Eastside Catholic's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kirsch threw for 448 and 4 touchdowns and Arbis-Jackson had 215 yards receiving. On the ground Henry Jarvis contributed 72 yards. Matt Laris helped Eastside Catholic's passing attack out by catching 8 balls for 99 yards.

Arbis-Jackson had a great week catching the football as the Crusaders lost to the Fighting Irish. He caught 13 passes for 215 yards.

He went 31-45 with 0 interceptions.

Arbis-Jackson was the best wideout in the league this week as Eastside Catholic lost to O'Dea. Laris helped Eastside Catholic's passing attack out by catching 8 balls for 99 yards.

Eastside Catholic's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Crusaders feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Kirsch has thrown for 1,511 yards and 18 touchdowns this season, while Arbis-Jackson has 39 catches for 633 yards.

Two of the top teams in the league will go toe-to-toe this week when Jeremy Thielbahr's team takes on Bishop Blanchet. The Crusaders' offense has recorded 300 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Aaron Maul's team has permitted only 57 on the year.

Jarvis of the Eastside Catholic is only 63 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Jarvis has rushed for 937 yards on 101 carries so far this year.

The Crusaders are currently in third, while Bishop Blanchet is in second.

Monte Kohler's team led 3A Metro - Mountain in scoring this week after putting up 63 points on Eastside Catholic.
