With a playoff win on the line, Newark Catholic rose to the challenge on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Green Bobcats as they made off with a 7-1 victory. Considering the Green Wave have won 17 games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Newark Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Green, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-6.

Looking ahead, Newark Catholic will take on South Webster at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Jeeps' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Green Wave's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Green does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
