Baseball Recap: Bradley-Bourbonnais Takes a Loss

It was a good run, but Bradley-Bourbonnais unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Sandburg Eagles by a score of 5-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Boilermakers of the 5-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Bradley-Bourbonnais got a good showing from Ian Irps, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Mason Shaul made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kason Bynum, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Bradley-Bourbonnais' defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Sandburg, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

While Bradley-Bourbonnais had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
