The Zion Christian Academy Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Franklin Road Christian Minutemen at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Zion Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Zion Christian Academy made easy work of Santa Fe and carried off a 15-5 win. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Kingston Dennie was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carson Boylan, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. He has become a key player for Zion Christian Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 3-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Surratt, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Zion Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Franklin Road Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch back in March as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Middle Tennessee Monarchs. That's two games in a row now that the Minutemen have lost by exactly two runs.
Benjamin Walker made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Mason Alcorn was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
The win got Zion Christian Academy back to even at 7-7. As for Franklin Road Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
Franklin Road Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Zion Christian Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .342. It's a different story for Franklin Road Christian, though, as they've only averaged .254. Will they be able to contain Zion Christian Academy's hitters?
Zion Christian Academy skirted past Franklin Road Christian 14-12 in their previous matchup back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
