Powell County had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.2 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They came out on top against the West Carter Comets by a score of 66-58. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Comets are ranked 148th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
