Basketball Recap: Coalfield Takes a Loss

Coalfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 67-35 loss at the hands of the Sunbright Tigers. The Yellow Jackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Sunbright was led to victory by Levi Walker and Noah Bunch. Walker posted 21 points, while Bunch put up 21 points. Another player making a difference was Garrett Rogers, who scored 11 points.

Coalfield's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Sunbright, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-6.

Coalfield will challenge Clarkrange at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Clarkrange is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59 points per game this season. As for Sunbright, they will square off against Oakdale at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
