Zackery Gross spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Elmwood saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Snow, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Ottawa Hills had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Bobcats. That's two games straight that the Green Bears have won by exactly four runs.

Ottawa Hills' win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-1. As for Elmwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-5.
