Volleyball Recap: North Crowley's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

It was a proper cat-fight when North Crowley challenged Walnut Grove on Thursday. The Panthers fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1. The loss put an end to the Panthers' undefeated start to the season.

North Crowley started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-19, 25-17.

Their offense was headlined by Yazmin Wheat and Brooklyn Peoples, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Abrielle Johnson and her 31 assists. Zania Haymond controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Hailey Graham was nothing short of spectacular for Walnut Grove: she had 15 digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Maleah Evans, who had 18 assists and five digs.

Having lost for the first time this season, North Crowley fell to 2-1. As for Walnut Grove, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

North Crowley has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Centennial on the 16th. As for Walnut Grove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Plano West on the 16th.
