Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Harlingen's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Harlingen won the last time they faced Los Fresnos and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cardinals blew past the Falcons 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won 11 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Jozalin Bravo made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Bravo was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Destiny Delgado was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zuelly Cruz, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Harlingen was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher in six consecutive contests.

Harlingen is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Los Fresnos, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-14-1.

Harlingen has already played their next match (against San Benito), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Los Fresnos, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 15-11 victory against Hanna on the 17th.
