Softball Recap: Elizabeth Seton Comes Up Short

Elizabeth Seton had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 5-6 to make it four. They fell just short of the Paul VI Panthers by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Elizabeth Seton has suffered against Paul VI since March 12, 2019.

As for Paul VI, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games.

For Paul VI's part, Maria Dozier was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Gabby Hager was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs.

Looking ahead, Elizabeth Seton will be playing at home against The Academy of the Holy Cross at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Paul VI, they will challenge South Range at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
