Volleyball Game Preview: Silver Fighting Colts vs. Deming Wildcats

The Silver Fighting Colts will head out to challenge the Deming Wildcats at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Silver will be strutting in after a win while Deming will be coming in after a loss.

Silver is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Santa Teresa, who was ranked 24th at the time (Silver was ranked 16th). The Fighting Colts were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Desert Warriors on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Fighting Colts.

Silver never let Santa Teresa on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-16, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Deming came up short against Chaparral on Tuesday and fell 3-1.

While Deming ultimately came up short, they really made Chaparral work, particularly in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-18, 26-28, 27-25.

Deming has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Silver, their victory bumped their record up to 14-3.

Silver was able to grind out a solid win over Deming in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, winning 3-1. Do the Fighting Colts have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
