Softball Recap: Adirondack Gets the Win

Adirondack posted their closest win since April 7th on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Little Falls Mounties 4-3. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Mounties recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Allison Croniser spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brea Barrow and Leah Leach did most of the damage at the plate: Barrow got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, while Leach went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two hits gave Leach a new career-high.

Adirondack pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Little Falls, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Adirondack is set to square off against their familiar foe Mt. Markham at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Little Falls will challenge rival Canastota at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
